Join us for the 4th Annual Speaker Series in conversation with award-winning activist and advocate Precious Brady-Davis. Precious is a highly lauded international public speaker and panelist whose mission is to create critical intersectional dialogue, foster empowerment, and create solidarity that leads to positive self and social awareness. Born into traumatic circumstances, Davis was brought up in the Omaha foster care system and the Pentecostal faith. Precious will discuss her new memoir I Have Always Been Me.
The evening begins with a social hour catered by Hotel Arista.
In I Have Always Been Me Brady-Davis reflects on a childhood of neglect, instability, and abandonment. She reveals her determination to dream through it and shares her profound journey as a trans woman now fully actualized, absolutely confident, and precious. She speaks to anyone who has ever tried to find their place in this world and imparts the wisdom that comes with surmounting odds and celebrating on the other side.
A memoir, a love story, and an outreach for the marginalized, Precious’s sojourn is a song of self-reliance and pride and an invitation to join in the chorus.
Precious Brady-Davis
Precious is a true renaissance woman; As a native Nebraskan, she has never lost her Midwestern charm. Lauded internationally as an award-winning diversity advocate, communications professional, public speaker, and now author.
With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit administration, leadership development, and public relations Precious is a dynamic speaker and panelist who has been featured at the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, Reed College, University of Michigan, The Chicago Community Trust, Hampshire College, James Madison University, and the University of Cambridge.

Davis finds deep meaning in finding the root of what proliferates bias, bigotry, and prejudice in our world. Through celebrating the beauty of coexistence, uplifting and centering the stories of those who are most marginalized, and seeing that all issues that damn the human condition are interconnected she invites all who come in contact with her to see the resilience that lives within us all.
Precious is married to Myles Brady and is a resident of Hyde Park on the South Side of Chicago.
